Te Whāngai Trust

$5.00

Te Whāngai Trust is a non-profit delivering native plant production and environmental restoration.

They create nature-based employment pathways for rangatahi and people transitioning from the corrections system.

The name Te Whāngai speaks to nurturing, caring for and fostering growth.

From two native plant nursery hubs at Glenbrook and Pūkorokoro / Miranda, and through environmental restoration projects across Auckland and the Waikato, people grow native plants, restore waterways and wetlands, gain qualifications and workplace experience, and build pathways into employment, education and leadership.

Te Whāngai Trust sees social, environmental, economic and cultural outcomes as one connected system: when people and whenua are given the conditions to flourish, communities become stronger too.

The difference your gift could make:

• $25 could contribute to kai, PPE or other essentials that help someone take part confidently in a day of learning and mahi.

• $100 could help connect a participant with programme activities, training or work experience through transport across South Auckland and Franklin.

• $200 could contribute towards driver licensing, NZQA training, employment preparation or another practical step that expands someone's options.

• $1,000 could help provide sustained mentoring, pastoral support, rehabilitation, and training that creates a lifetime of opportunity for rangatahi over a lifetime.
