Auckland City Mission
Auckland City Mission has been providing support to those Aucklanders most in need since 1920.
Our work involves helping the homeless, families living in poverty, people facing addiction and isolated elderly. Our specialised services work to provide support to address the issues that impact on these groups.
The Mission provides emergency food, bedding, temporary housing, household items, health care, social work support, activities, residential detox, advocacy and a sense of community for those who are poor, homeless, ill, isolated or suffering from alcohol or other drug use/abuse.
$10 could gift a nourishing meal at Haeata, the Mission’s community dining room for people experiencing homelessness or in a crisis situation. Haeata, is open 365 days of the year. It provides two meals and a welcoming, safe and warm place for people to build relationships and spend time.
$20 could gift companionship and support elderly in need. The Auckland City Mission provides on average 347 home support visits a year to isolated elderly people.
$25 could gift an essential hygiene box to a family. The Mission’s essential hygiene boxes are filled with essential toiletry and hygiene items that will support a family in need of basic necessities.
$45 could gift essential items towards an emergency staple food parcel to a family over Christmas. The Mission’s emergency food parcels provide items to care for a family in need. The parcels are nutritionally balanced and made up of simple items that families can make into healthy meals. A box of these items can make a huge difference for families facing hunger and little food to spare.
