Help for children and families in Ukraine

By Christine Langdon - The desperate situation in Ukraine has touched us this week and we've been wondering how we could help.

If you're feeling the same, here are two things you could do:

Our charity partner ChildFund New Zealand has launched an appeal and is working with local partners in Ukraine to provide support to children and families. This will include things like toys and online lessons for children - to bring some sense of normality to their lives. It will also include money to help families meet their basic needs (things like food, water and medicines), and support for families who have fled to neighbouring countries as refugees. You can give through ChildFund's website.

You can also raise funds for children and families in Ukraine by creating a birthday registry for ChildFund at The Good Registry. Just by choosing to forgo gifts for yourself this year, you can raise funds to help children and families in desperate need.

If you'd like to know more about the current situation for families and children in Ukraine and the work ChildFund is doing, watch the video on our YouTube page from ChildFund NZ Programme Director Sally Angelson.

Many of us might feel that we can't do a lot. But whether it is donating directly to the ChildFund appeal or setting up a birthday registry, we can show love and unity, and make a real difference.

Why not create your birthday registry for ChildFund today?

The Good Registry team
